Do It Yourself: Statement Dress
What You'll Need:
-3 yards of fabric (vintage)
-a tape measure
-scissors, needle, and thread
-a white t-shirt
-felt stick on letters (that you can sew, iron or stick on to make any saying you want on your shirt)
Step #1
Cut the fabric to make the skirt of the dress. For width, measure your waist and multiple by 3. Then cut your fabric at the length you want.
Step #2
Using a needle and thread, make a running stitch across the top of the fabric (with each stitch about a one-quarter inch in length) When you finish, pull the stitch to shirr the shirt.
Step #3
Trim the bottom of the t-shirt so that it hits your natural waist. Sew the skirt's waist to the t-shirts bottom. Stick the letters across the front of the shirt to spell out your message.
..And there's your dress!!
